Late Lunch
What is it? A business update with a twist. Or rather, lots of them. Held once every four weeks at ASDA House (our Leeds Head Office) it's aimed at keeping everybody informed of what's going on in a fun way. It's a carnival atmosphere, there's a DJ, music blaring, horns hooting, traffic lights trafficking...
How about an example then. In August 2007 the theme was Tickled Pink. Naturally that meant dressing up in pink to represent Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Campaign Charities that we support.
We had a speaker from the Charity explaining what they do and how the money ASDA has raised helps support people who are affected by breast cancer. Then our Trading Teams showed us the products ASDA is selling that will raise more money for the charity (slippers, a pink DS etc).
Next, we highlighted loss-prevention issues in the form of a high-or-low game-show quiz. And finally we had the ASDA chant, which we all do together to boost team spirit!
