When I graduated I knew I wanted to get into management accounting - preferably with an international organisation that would support me in studying for a CIMA qualification. ASDA offered everything I was looking for, with some extras on top. There was a buzz about the place - I could see I'd have the chance to get involved in lots of different projects. And the people were really friendly and helpful and made me feel welcome right from the start.

I work in the Business Planning department part of the Finance Team; my customers include the Executives, Wal-Mart and all the other Finance Teams so I have a lot of responsibility in my current role.

My rotations have taken me into many different parts of the business so I've built up a good understanding of how everything fits together. I've worked on the Trading Accounts as a Speciality Accountant looking after departments such as Petrol, George, Pharmacy and Optical. This gave me a broad range of experience across different parts of the business. I’ve also been a part of the Reporting Team for the Trading Floor which reports on management information for the department. This helped me to build relationships with different departments and has helped to develop my network.

I also get involved with the Charities Committee and I'm also a first year graduate scheme buddy, so I'm on hand to help out new graduates in their first year.
