About the area

It's up to the Logistics function at ASDA to deliver products quickly and maintain their availability to our stores. With around 15,000 people, a fleet of over 1,000 tractor units and a vast product range, it's an extremely fast-paced environment with lots of challenges along the way.

About your development

Our two-year logistics programme consists of four placements. First of all, you'll be given an induction, which will see you visit some of our distribution centres and Head Office to gain an understanding of our organisation. You'll then take on your first depot placement in either the transport or warehouse department. This placement is designed to equip you with the basic skills you'll need throughout your career at ASDA. So, you'll spend time with experienced Line Managers as well as taking on some people management responsibilities.

Your second placement will be as a Line Manager in one of our ambient food, chilled or clothing depots. Leading a small operational team, you'll be responsible for all of the day to day challenges associated with working in such a fast-moving environment. It's a big challenge that will see you taking on lots of responsibility at an early stage.

Your final two placements will depend upon the skills you've built up over your time at ASDA. Of course, throughout the scheme, we'll take a keen interest in your development, reviewing what you've done so far and helping you decide on where you want your career to head. Ultimately, we want you to move into one of our Senior Management roles.

About you

Ideally you'll bring a logistics or transport-based degree, but we're happy to consider people from other disciplines. Working with people from all walks of life, you'll also need a confident, down to earth approach and to be a natural communicator.
